Texas whiskey gains following

GRAPEVINE, TX / AGILITYPR.NEWS / September 09, 2020 / The Lone Star State is known for many things and it is time to add whiskey to that list. Sitting quietly at the “bend in the river” where it gets its name, Tahwahkaro Distilling Company is putting out some award-winning whiskey and consumers are starting to take notice.

The folks at Tahwahkaro started distilling in 2017 and thanks to the favorable Texas climate their first product was released in 2019. As the whiskey they are producing gets older, their fan base continues to grow right along with their distribution.

“We are thrilled with the reception our whiskey has received here in Texas and are really excited to expand upon that,” said Head Distiller Justin Jackson. “As our distribution grows we are really getting a lot of positive feedback from the industry and consumers. It speaks well of the attention to detail that goes into each bottle of Tahwahkaro Whiskey we distill.”

Currently Tahwahkaro has three offerings— two of which are four grain bourbon along with a rye malt whiskey. One of the bourbons is bottled at 96 proof and the other is barrel strength. The rye malt checks in at 105 proof. These products are unique to the whiskey category and bring something special to the table for whiskey connoisseurs. Both whiskies are true “grain to glass” offerings with everything done on the distillery site and all the grains used in the product sourced from Texas.

“The whiskies we are producing at Tahwahkaro are different from anything else out there,” said Jackson. “We utilize “Grain Forward” distilling processes, highlighting the complexity and personality of each kernel. Our process and mashbills create a very smooth taste profile that whiskey drinkers love to sip.”
