UNITED KINGDOM / AGILITYPR.NEWS / February 08, 2021 / Pioneers, passionate educators and persistent campaigners are among the extraordinary education talent honoured each year at the Tes Schools Awards, one of the biggest nights in the UK education calendar. The 2021 awards open for entries today, which after the year it has been for anyone and everyone in education, will be a big one!
The chief judge of the Tes Schools Awards and Editor of Tes magazine Jon Severs said:
“There has never been a more necessary time to celebrate the tireless efforts of those who work in schools. The past 12 months has put the profession on the front line of the pandemic, fighting for the pupils in their care and ensuring that children are learning despite the restrictions imposed on schools.
“It is also a crucial time to ensure innovation and best practice is shared as widely as possible. Teachers are under more pressure than ever before and workload is spiralling – the sharing of the best solutions to the most complex problems can help ease that strain.
"So the Tes Schools Awards take on an even bigger significance than usual in 2021, providing a very public recognition of the essential work of schools, while helping the sector as a whole through the myriad and complicated problems it is facing”.
This year the annual awards will be held as a remote ceremony online on Friday 25th June, in contrast to the usual magnificent ceremony, held at the Grosvenor Hotel, on London’s Park Lane. But there will be no shortage of excitement as schools from around the country will be honoured for their amazing and tireless work.
