UNITED KINGDOM / AGILITYPR.NEWS / July 28, 2020 / As the sentiments of the theme tune to the TV show Friends ring in our ears, the Countryside Restoration Trust (CRT) are evoking the spirit of International Friendship day!
On the 30th July, the Trust will be celebrating #InternationalFriendshipDay - bringing people and communities together, creating trust and ultimately celebrating friendships. Not only are they currently hosting the first, virtual CRT Village Show (#CRTVillageShow), where you can experience the updates from the farm alongside online competitions and educational activities from the comfort of your home, they’re also offering exclusive experience to those who join as Friends.
Since 1993, Friendships have been the heart of the Countryside Restoration Trust. CRT Friends have provided a foundation of funding through volunteering their spare time, donations and becoming CRT Friends!
To show support to the CRT on #InternationalFriendshipDay we are asking people to become a Friend of the CRT. Friendships start from £25 and have a plethora of benefits including a personalised Welcome Pack, including a car sticker, regular copies of our magazine The Lark, produced especially for our supporters and invitations to Open Days and special events on our farms.
Anyone who joins before 14 August 2020 will be entered into a competition to win a second year Friendship free and a goody bag filled with CRT merch.

Those most dedicated to the countryside, who join as a Life Friend before 14 August 2020 will be entered into a competition to have a tour of a CRT Farm of their choice with Robin Page, a co-founder and Executive Chairman. This experience has previously only been offered to the very highest of VIPs!
Hayley Neal, Fundraising Manager states; “One of our CRT Friends said to me recently, our Friends ‘are very grateful to be part of something that is so important’.
"Like an 86 year old Friend who 'can remember the countryside as it was in the 1930’s, 40’s and 50’s - wild flowers, many more common species of birds, insects and animals’, we share the love of the countryside and with the support of our Friends, our goal is to see the return of these native species."
Mrs Neal continues; "On behalf of the CRT, I can say we are so thankful for the continual support from all our CRT Friends, donors and volunteers.”
The cornerstone of the CRT’s philosophy is both traditional and innovative farming methods can work profitably and sustainably together in conjunction with the protection and restoration of wildlife habitats and precious eco-systems –funded with by the support of CRT Friends and donations.
Robin Page, CRT co-founder and Chairman said “The CRT would not be where it is today without the support of all our Friends. 27 years ago, when I first launched the CRT with my late friend, artist and conservationist Gordon Beningfield, we were overwhelmed by the response of people who, like us, was concerned about things happening in the countryside. Many of those are still our Friends now. Together, we will restore a living, working countryside”.
After lockdown, the CRT are looking forward to celebrating friendship, re-engaging with old Friends and of course, welcoming new ones!
About Us
The Countryside Restoration Trust (CRT) was established in 1993 by the chairman, Robin Page, and the late artist and conservationist, Gordon Beningfield, in response to growing fears about intensive and industrialised farming.
Now 27 years old, the CRT is dedicated to restoring and protecting the wider countryside and its wildlife, across 2,000 acres of land, on its 15 sites, spanning the length of the UK. The CRT’s aim is for conservation improvements to be carried out alongside practical farming and land management, and to spread these aims by example and education.
