The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply and ITN Productions Industry News announce new programme ‘Future-Proofing the Supply Chain’

STAMFORD / AGILITYPR.NEWS / October 19, 2021 /
The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) and ITN Productions Industry News are producing a news-style programme ‘Future-Proofing the Supply Chain’, raising the profile of the profession and sustainable procurement practices.

Supply chains are constantly evolving. Technology along with diversification of staff skill set and a greener customer mindset is playing a key part in this development. Poor supply chains can have a huge impact on an organisation's profits from continuity of supply, excess inventory, inadequate planning, logistics and contracts with suppliers and poor sourcing choices.

Future-Proofing the Supply Chain will provide key insights into the procurement and supply landscape, how it functions and the roles within the profession. Leading figures will show how their organisations have embraced the change of recent years by using technological innovation and greener practices to advance their business and ensure they are embedding sustainable and resilient practices within their supply chain.

Anchored by an ITN Productions presenter from the ITN Studio in London, the programme will showcase the exciting career opportunities and range of roles available throughout procurement and highlight the work being done by the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply to educate supply chains on a global scale.

Featuring key industry interviews, news-style reports and sponsored editorial profiles from leading organisations, thought-leaders and industry innovators, the programme will launch In 2022.

Malcolm Harrison, CEO of The Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply said:
“Modern supply chains are long, complex and travel through many countries around the world, so most businesses’ environmental impacts are not immediately visible. There must be a significant step forward to ensure that more businesses involve procurement teams in their sustainability strategy including understanding the impact of the whole supply chain. We are delighted to be working with ITN Productions to help raise awareness of these critically important issue

Nina Harrison-Bell Head of ITN Productions Industry News said: "We are delighted to partner once again with CIPS to produce a programme which raises awareness of the sector and the importance of sustainable supply chain solutions.  Sustainability is a key factor in influencing societal decisions. Consumers and governments increasingly want the goods and services they purchase and companies they do business with to contribute positively to society.  Our programme will provide a platform to share best practice and encourage sustainable practices as standard practice at the heart of supply chain management.”
