UNITED KINGDOM / AGILITYPR.NEWS / March 16, 2020 / Lancashire-based service station specialist The Kay Group is set to continue with ambitious expansion plans after reporting an annual turnover of £126 million.

Financial results published this week revealed that the group had turned over £126.34 million with a gross profit of £9.49 million for the year ending 31 October 2019.

This marks a 13.9% increase in turnover on the previous year, and a 27.7% increase in gross profit.

Three new sites were launched by The Kay Group in Barnsley, Tyneside and Wrexham over the course of the previous financial year.

A new-to-industry site is set to open in Beighton, Sheffield this summer, with another site set to launch later in the year. The group continues to look for new sites to develop, with a number of locations already in the pipeline.

Ken Kay, CEO of the Kay Group, said: “We are delighted with this year’s financial results and we are on track for another successful year, with a number of new sites in the pipeline which will not only create jobs and meet growing demand, but offer customers a superior forecourt experience.”

The Kay Group’s annual report also highlighted strong staff retention rates among its 240+ employees.

Ken Kay added: “Our excellent staff retention level is down to quality working conditions and facilities, bespoke uniforms the staff are proud to wear and financial terms and conditions above the industry norm, resulting in growing numbers who benefit each year from long service bonuses.”

Established in 1972, The Kay Group serves 200,000 customers a week across 19 locations, with on-site partners including Greggs, Subway and Costa Coffee.
