TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA / AGILITYPR.NEWS / April 20, 2021 / Consumers Can Now Recycle Tide, Gain and Downy Eco-Box Products and Packaging Nationwide
Leading laundry detergent brand, Tide has expanded its recycling program with international recycling leader TerraCycle® to make the packaging from Tide, Gain and Downy Eco-Boxes nationally recyclable. As an added incentive, for every shipment of waste sent to TerraCycle through the P&G Eco-Box Recycling Program, collectors earn points that can be donated to a non-profit, school or charitable organization of their choice.
Through the P&G Eco-Box Recycling Program, consumers can now send in all traditionally non-recyclable Eco-Box products and packaging from Tide, Downy and Gain, including the plastic dispensing cups, flexible plastic bags, nozzles, and nozzle clips. Participation is free and easy: sign up on the TerraCycle program page https://www.terracycle.com/en-CA/brigades/pg-eco-box-en-ca and mail in the packaging waste using a prepaid shipping label. Once collected, the packaging is cleaned and melted into hard plastic that can be remolded to make new recycled products.
"Tide is helping to drive awareness to the issue of waste and elicit change in the consumer by helping their customers responsibly dispose of fabric care products," said TerraCycle CEO and Founder, Tom Szaky. “Through the expansion of this recycling program, consumers have an opportunity to divert even more packaging from landfills while maximizing their ability to do good."
The P&G Eco-Box Recycling Program is open to any interested individual, school, office, or community organization. For more information on TerraCycle’s recycling program, visit www.terracycle.ca.
