GENEVA, SWITZERLAND / AGILITYPR.NEWS / March 14, 2025 / SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 035.25, detailing updates to several of Hong Kong’s toy and children’s product standards.
In Hong Kong, toys and children’s products must comply with all applicable requirements in any one of the safety standards specified in Schedule 1 (Toy Standards) or Schedule 2 (Schedule 2 Product Standards) of the Toys and Children’s Product Safety Ordinance.
The updates came in the Toys and Children’s Products Safety Ordinance (Amendment of Schedules 1 and 2) Notice 2025, which was issued on February 14, 2025. This revises safety standards for toys and seven categories of children’s products:
The updated standards will be effective from August 1, 2025, and follow on from previous revisions to Schedules 1 and 2 of the Ordinance that came into effect in August 2024.
