Fielding Cottage Norfolk Holidays has three wonderful rural ‘barn style’ cottages located on a farm at Honingham, just 20 minutes’ drive from Norwich.
Brand new to their portfolio is their seaside holiday cottage, just a few steps from the golden sandy beach in Bacton, North Norfolk.
Norfolk is the perfect location to explore Norwich, a historic city. The fine city of Norwich has something for everyone! There is fabulous shopping in the Norwich Lanes or in Jarrold, an independent department store that has been family run since 1823. You can visit the Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery and take a tour around the stunning Norwich Cathedral.
The Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts is an inspirational public art museum in a world-class Norman Foster building at the University of East Anglia, just a short drive from the cottage.
Or closer to home, join the Fielding Cottage team for a goat cheese making course and learn how to curd your own delicious goat cheese!
There’s plenty to do at night time too. The Norwich food and entertainment scene is much talked about. Treat your family to a meal in the city at one of the many independently run restaurants or enjoy a cosy pub in the countryside, such as the award-winning The Kings Head at Bawburgh.
Where to stay?
‘The Nest’ cottage is perfect for a couple’s retreat.
This cosy self-catering cottage is situated on the first floor and includes a comfortable double bedroom, a spacious ensuite bathroom including a shower, a well equipped kitchen and an adjoining lounge area.
Kingfisher
‘Kingfisher’ is bright clean and modern. It can sleep up to four people. The entrance leads in to a large open plan kitchen which has all the home from home conveniences you would expect and spacious living area, leading out to an outside patio.
Upstairs you will find two ensuite bedrooms, one master bedroom which has a bath and a shower, and a twin bedroom with an ensuite shower room.
Nightingale
‘Nightingale’ shares the same layout as Kingfisher with views looking out over the lawn and sleeps up to four people.
All the cottages available are child-friendly and a travel cot and stairgate can be provided on request. On site there is a games room and a ping-pong table, the opportunity to meet the goats and lots of space for outside dining and picnics.
The Goat Shed is the on-site shop selling their own goats’ milk and cheeses, as well as seasonal vegetables (such as asparagus and strawberries in the summer), eggs, coffee, honey, jams, ice cream and their Fielding Cottage Skincare range.
The Beach House at Bacton is uniquely situated just ten steps from the sea giving panoramic sea views from the property. The property is great for a bucket and spade holiday providing traditional no frills accommodation in a stunning location for a family-friendly holiday on the North Norfolk coast.
Miles of sandy beaches await and just walking distance from the shops, cafes and fish and chip shop. The Beach House sleeps five, offering one double bedroom, a second bedroom sleeping three in bunk beds. This property has a separate WC and bathroom, which includes shower and bath. There is an open plan kitchen/living area, and French doors that open out to the cliffs and sea below. There is a further sun room, perfect for those days when the British weather occasionally lets us down.
About Us
Fielding Cottage include ‘The Nest’, ‘Kingfisher’ and ‘Nightingale.’ They are purpose built luxury cottages nestled in the Norfolk countryside. Owned and run by Sam Steggles, an entrepreneur farmer that started his interest in farming aged 12 and now has his own successful goat cheese processing and goats milk skin care business.

Goat Cheese Making Courses:
The regular courses will run on Fridays from 09:00 to 15:00 on Friday 3rd May 2019, Friday 17th May 2019, Friday 31st May 2019, Friday 8th June, Saturday 9th June, Friday 21st June, Saturday 22nd June, Friday 16th August, Saturday 17th August, Friday 30th August and Saturday 31st August.
The courses will be a maximum of 16 people and tickets are sold per individual, with a minimum order of two tickets. They are available to purchase on their website at a cost of £75.00.
