UNCROWD appoints big hitter Chris Heap for commercial role
Chris Heap joins Uncrowd as Interim VP Retail & Customer Success

Once again, the gritty underdog Uncrowd, a SaaS/ PaaS startup and Microsoft’s Global Startup Partner of the Year 2020, punches well above its weight with the appointment of Chris Heap from CapGemini Invent as Interim VP Retail and Customer Success. Uncrowd CEO & Co-founder Richard Hammond said “Chris is one of the best I’ve ever seen at turning lots of excited talk and flowing ideas into actual commercial work that generates fat gains for customers.”
With immediate effect, Chris Heap joins Uncrowd as Interim VP Retail & Customer Success. Chris joins from a global role at CapGemini Invent and a career that includes worldwide leadership, commercial, digital transformation and retail consulting, roles at Microsoft, PA Consulting and PwC. Heap stated “Uncrowd is growing fast but has built a culture that means I can deliver lots of value at the same time as still seeing my young family grow. It’s hugely motivating to work with people who have a sharp vision for their business, who know the value of the incredible new generation of analytics they’ve spawned and also value that the team get to balance that with home life. Specifically, the new role deals with ensuring that Uncrowd’s growing customer base achieves the best possible commercial outcomes when clients are working with their Friction/Reward Indexing analytics product which shows retailers how to go from ‘also ran’ to ‘favourite choice’ in any given shopper mission.
On the new appointment CEO Richard Hammond further commented “We wooed Chris, proper batting of eyelids, the lot, out of respect for our customers.
