JOHNSON CITY, TN / AGILITYPR.NEWS / May 05, 2020 / Steve Darden Donates to Local Business Recovery Fund
Republican candidate for Congress, Steve Darden, proved his commitment to struggling businesses in the region due to the COVID Pandemic. Darden presented a $1,000 check to Andy Dietrich of the Local Business Recovery Fund whose mission is to provide grants to small businesses who are struggling to survive in the region.
“I’m a small businessman and understand the kinds of challenges hundreds of small businesses now face in the 1st Congressional District,” Darden said. “I witnessed the region coming together in this worthy cause to help provide grants to those who might fall through the cracks of Federal government loans and wanted to contribute.”
“I work with many small business owners in my law practice and know that they are the backbone for jobs in the region,” Darden explains. “With the vote and support of businesses here in the 1st District, I’ll support legislation in Washington that will continue the region’s post-pandemic recovery for small business owners and employees.”
Darden’s family operated a Johnson City diner for many years where Steve began his work life washing dishes. After graduating from the University of Tennessee with a law degree, he joined Hunter, Smith & Davis where he is now a partner in a small business.
“I want to thank the regional business, chamber and economic development leaders for developing the Local Business Recovery Fund and the RegionAHEAD.com website. That is where people can contribute to the fund.”
Small business owners who wish to apply for a grant from the fund can do so at the RegionAHEAD.com website. For more information on Steve Darden and his campaign, visit SteveDarden.com.
