LONDON, UK / AGILITYPR.NEWS / November 22, 2019 / A global trading contest run by European broker EXANTE and Global Capital Market Solutions (GCMS) - has crowned only the second American winner in a decade.

The Nordic Trading Competition (NTC) - a unique trading contest formally sponsored by NASDAQ, is designed to teach students how to trade and develop the traders of the future.

The 7 hour contest takes part on EXANTE’s online trading platform and gives hundreds of university students access to more than 50,000 financial instruments on over 50 markets. Students start with €100,000 in virtual funds and get to test their trading skills against their peers, in what is a tight competition.

This year’s competition took place on November 19th, 2019 and crowned United States (US) student Mike Logan as its winner, with Mr Logan making a whopping €12,000 return on his initial investment.

EXANTE has partnered with GCMS - capital markets and cryptocurrency education specialists - for the past two years. This year’s contest was the first to be run completely online, with traders from universities in the United Kingdom, the United States, and all Nordic countries.

According to Mr Logan, he made most of his money trading AUD/JPY and USD/CAD currencies, with “heavy use of technical analysis,” developed from his education at Vanderbilt University.

Mr Logan, who is an economics major in his last year of university in Denmark where he is on an exchange programme, said that he is very happy to have taken part and that it’s “awesome” to win the contest.
