WORCESTERSHIRE, UK / AGILITYPR.NEWS / May 12, 2025 / Worcestershire Cricket Foundation has teamed up with Howden Insurance to launch a brand-new Kit Exchange scheme, helping to remove financial barriers for young people looking to get involved in cricket.
As part of its ongoing mission to make cricket more accessible to all, the Foundation is inviting the local community to donate, exchange or collect pre-loved cricket equipment — including bats, pads, stumps and more — completely free of charge. The initiative is being supported by Howden’s Worcester branch, located on Foregate Street, which will serve as a central hub for drop-offs and collections.
Billy Clark, Executive Director of the Worcestershire Cricket Foundation, said:
“At Worcestershire Cricket Foundation, we’re committed to creating opportunities for everyone to get involved in the game, regardless of background or income. This partnership with Howden allows us to directly support families across the county by giving them access to good-quality kit and helping young players thrive.”
The Foundation plays a vital role in using cricket as a tool for positive change — from delivering disability cricket and supporting mental health programmes, to offering school engagement and volunteering pathways. The new Kit Exchange builds on this work by tackling one of the most immediate challenges for many families: the rising cost of sports equipment.
James Parker, Branch Manager at Howden Worcester, added:
“As a team, we’re really passionate about supporting our local community — and cricket plays a huge role in Worcester life. We’re proud to support the Kit Exchange and hope it helps even more young people take part in the game.”
Worcestershire Cricket Foundation continues to work with partners like Howden to ensure cricket remains inclusive, welcoming, and community-led. To learn more about the Foundation’s impact or how to get involved in the Kit Exchange, visit wccc.co.uk/the-club/worcestershire-cricket-foundation.
