Local media are invited to watch as pickleball addict and aviation adventurer Dean Matt of Sarasota, FL attempts to set the world record for fastest time to play a game of pickleball in all 48 contiguous U.S. states. West Des Moines’ Smash Park is stop #24 on the itinerary, where he will play a game of pickleball on Monday, May 15 at 5 p.m.

Matt is flying himself to each destination around the country in a 2013 Cessna Turbo 206. Along the anticipated 26-day journey, Matt will play local “picklers,” celebrities, pickleball professionals, differently-abled individuals, media figures, mayors, and even a governor or two.

MEDIA NOTE: 1) Local media please plan on arriving 15 minutes before time above; 2) The event is scheduled to last about an hour including 30 minutes of introductions and actual game time and 30 minutes for media interviews of the players (at each stop two local players will join in on the world record breaking attempt) and local venue dignitaries.
