Rome Cavalieri, Waldorf Astoria Hotel: 15th October 15.00-19.00

iX Moments in Digital brings together influential speakers to discuss the most important contemporary issues facing the digital world. This year’s event will be taking place at the Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria in Rome, on Thursday 15 October 2020.

The meeting is divided into Digital Moments, a series of themed discussions with prominent guests, and will be streamed live on iCrossing’s xDigital platform and across social media platforms. This year’s theme is “Digital as a response to times of crisis”.

The Coronavirus emergency has exposed limits in the traditional ways of doing things and forced us into seeking new solutions. For those who have been able to exploit it, Digital Transformation has represented an important step forward, both from an organizational and a cultural point of view.

The question we must ask ourselves is: what are the steps required to meet the challenges of a substantially changed world? An evocative location, an exclusive event and exceptional speakers will provide the perfect setting to answer this question.

The meeting kicks off with "The new paradigms of digital communication: fake news, self-reporting and social journalism" with Giancarla Rondinelli, journalist, and correspondent on the Porta a Porta talk show, and RAI journalist Giuseppe Malara.

This will be an informative and insightful conversation about navigating social media, the importance of recognizing fake news, and ‘the truth’ in relation to fundamental changes that have taken place in journalism. Moderating will be Fabio Pagano, Head of Social Media at iCrossing Italia.

Following this will be "The digital impact on literary and audiovisual promotion: cinema, books, and TV series’" with award-winning author, Roberto Constantini.

A discussion of new ways to encourage reading and viewing in v2.0. of the modern world. Promoting films, books and TV series’ in the digital ecosystem represents a new challenge for the Italian cultural industries and beyond. How can we reach the public in an increasingly fragmented space? The session will be coordinated by Giancarla Rondinelli, journalist, and correspondent on Porta a Porta.

To conclude the meeting “IGCS Digital Meeting: digital as a response to the post-Covid-19 crisis” with Dr. Roberto Angioli (IGCS) and Waleed Shalaby (Novocure).

In response to the pandemic, the International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS) created an all-digital global meeting; 4 days of live and on demand content with a digitally enhanced program. Find out how they did it, the unexpected benefits and how their experience can be applied in other industries. The session will be coordinated by Rosa Van Wyk, Country Manager of iCrossing Spain and Creative Director of iCrossing Italy and Spain.

Accompanying the three main events will be a series of interviews with exponents from the international digital world and heads of companies who have been able to seize the opportunities presented by the ongoing global shift towards digital.
