PITTSBURGH, PA / AGILITYPR.NEWS / November 21, 2019 / Now that the weather has officially welcomed us into the holiday season, come shop for your holiday gifts at this year’s Pittsburgh Winter Avant-Garde Art & Craft Show! Made up of a large number of vendors selling 100% handmade goods, the Avant-Garde show is a must for holiday shopping!
For those unfamiliar, the Avant-Garde Shows are a series of festivals that unite the community for a weekend celebration of art, crafts, and food. Annually, there are nearly 30 shows a year throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania and each one welcomes different vendors. Whether you are searching for dog and cat accessories, jewelry made out of precious gemstones, or in the mood for something deliciously sweet, the Avant-Garde Shows have something for everyone. In addition to the large variety of vendors, attendees are able to enjoy lunch at the concessions area on site!
“It is so inspiring to be surrounded by a room full of creatives putting their work out there for the world to see. I can always tell by the crowd’s positive reaction that the talent is top notch, which is why I love running the shows!” says founder, Becki Silverstein.
Avant-Garde not only brings the area together to shop, they help small businesses grow and give back to the community. To date, the shows have raised over $50,000 for local non-profits.
Avant-Garde teams up with a non-profit at each show to raise money and awareness for their cause. The Pittsburgh show’s beneficiary is Girls on the Run, a non-profit dedicated to inspiring girls to have the confidence to reach their full potential through curriculums that creatively integrate running. Know that you are giving back to those who need it most when you stop by our show!

Launched in June of 2011, the Avant-Garde Art & Craft Shows are a series of art and craft events that are held throughout the Midwest year-round. Each event showcases local handmade artisans and crafters, drawing attention to the amazing eclectic talent located in the area! A portion of all proceeds from each event is donated to a local charity within the community of where the shows are held. The Avant-Garde Art & Craft Shows are also recognized by the Better Business Bureau as an accredited organization.
